It has been reported that thousands of women have developed ovarian
cancer after the use of Johnson & Johnson products such as "Baby
Powder" or "Shower to Shower" for feminine hygiene. Although this may
come as a shock to many, traces of talc particles have been found inside
ovarian tumors as early as 1971. Even more disturbing perhaps, is the
discovery that the use of talcum powder during ovulation can increase a
woman's risk of ovarian cancer by 92 percent.
Finally,
in 2013 an analysis of eight separate studies concluded that women
developed a 30 percent higher risk of developing ovarian cancer after
the use of talcum powder for feminine hygiene. The difference in this
study is that women do not need to be ovulating at the time of use for
this risk to increase.
Internal
documents suggest that Johnson & Johnson knew of the connection
between their products and ovarian cancer more than 50 years ago. Sadly,
this information was pushed aside and resulted in an increased
marketing ploy for "Shower to Shower" which was promoted as a "safe"
option for daily feminine hygiene.
Several
hundred lawsuits have been filed
against Johnson & Johnson for producing and distributing products
linked to ovarian cancer. The suffering that has resulted from Johnson
& Johnson's failure to come forward is both physical, and emotional.
If you or a loved one have endured this suffering, you are entitled to receive the maximum amount of financial compensation allowed by law.
