Mirena - Intrauterine Device Gone Wrong

Mirena is an intrauterine device which is over 99% effective at preventing pregnancy. It was approved by the FDA in 2000, and works by releasing small amounts of the hormone levonorgestrel into the uterus. Since the device’s release, there have been more than 45,000 adverse events reported. Complications including device expulsion, device dislocation (tendency to move into other parts of the body – usually the abdomen – and cause damage), perforation of the uterine wall, vaginal hemorrhage, life-threatening ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy that occurs outside the uterus), and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) have negatively impacted those who have used Mirena. Lawsuits are now being filed in the United States District Court claiming that the manufacturer of the device, Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, made misleading claims regarding the safety of Mirena. If you used this device and experienced complications, you may be eligible for compensation. With over three and a half decades of experience, the law firm of Rudolph F.X. Migliore, P.C. is positioned to help those who have been harmed by this device. Our law firm works with nationally recognized associated firms to reach major verdicts and settlements.
